About the event
Rising Artist Program (R.A.P) is a culturally responsive creative development program designed for youth who are passionate about music, storytelling, creativity, and self-expression. Through guided sessions rooted in hip-hop culture, students will explore identity, confidence, emotional awareness, collaboration, leadership, and positive community connection while developing original creative projects.
Participants will engage in songwriting, storytelling, beat selection, mindful breathwork, performance preparation and collaborative creative exercises that encourage youth to use their voice with purpose. Students will also gain hands-on exposure to the creative process through a real studio recording experience and an end of program showcase.
This experience is about more than music. It's about helping young creatives build confidence, strengthen communication skills, express themselves in healthy ways, and discover how their voice can positively impact the world around them
The Rising Artist Program is FREE and held in partnership with the City of Killeen Parks & Recreation. Limited spots available.
